Real Fur White Arctic Wolf Mask or Headdress by lupagreenwolf Real Fur White Arctic Wolf Mask or Headdress by lupagreenwolf
Layaway is available for this item; please contact me for details! My layaway plans are quite generous, and I'm more than willing to work you to find a payment plan that works for your budget!

Materials: Wolf hide, leather

Description: This is an amazingly large, beautiful, full-furred wolf mask, the very nicest and most luxurious white wolf mask I've ever done! He was all squashed and flat when I got him, with a damaged nose to boot! So I carefully reshaped him, and other than a tiny quirk due to his nose being not quite perfect, he's been turned into this absolutely gorgeous mask--the pictures don't begin to do him justice! I had thought about adding some decorations, but decided that he was just too pretty as-is.

You may wear him as either a mask or a headdress, as shown in the pictures. He has two black leather straps to tie on with; his eye holes are a bit smaller because they're the natural ones rather than cut open, but I walked around a while wearing him and didn't have any problems with vision.

He'd be a wonderful mask for totem ritual and dance, theater, costumery, and more!

No idea. I got it as a scrap left over from an Alaskan family that makes parkas, so it probably went to that.

Each of your designs is just gorgeous. I love the different kinds of sacred garb, items, jewelry, and tools that you make. They are so pretty, and each one still has the animal's spirit lingering. To touch these would be intense

Hi I have recently gone through a spiritual journey and became conscious of my Fylgia or soul animal. I am very interested in your pieces. I was wondering of your availability of black black wolf fur?

If I may ask, where do you get all the animal hides you use to made your headdresses and such? Or are you just really good friends with the local taxidermist?

A little of everywhere. Some of it is remnants from various fur makers and taxidermists, other things are found in antique shops, and still others come from people's personal collections.

hi,
you've made a marvelous piece there!
I would like to make one myself, from a coyote. (and I have one of a fox to)
but I have a question. How do you make it look like that, cause mine is all flappy and stuf.. and I don't know how to make it hard.
can you lent me a hand here?

oh and ps don't let people who are against real fur and stuff bother you. You shoud do what you love!

For one thing, it doesn't fit or mold in the same way real fur does. For another thing, it's a very deeply entwined part of my spiritual path: [link]

What would be the problem in getting a license to own a wolf as a pet???

Wolves don't make good pets. They're wild animals, and their instincts kick in very early.

Wolves are wild animals, yes. But raising on in a human environment wont make them become "wild."

You can't get rid of instincts. Here, watch this documentary when you have the time. It explains how, behaviorally and biologically, dogs and wolves are different from birth, even when raosed by humans: [link]

I know you can't... but a wolf's instinct is not to kill or attack humans. They are rather kind creatures. they will only attack a human if the wolf feels threatened.

If wolves mean so much to you... why are you gonna wear a dead one? For real?? Im surely more spiritual about wolves than you... i cant even stand to see someone wearing this.

Then don't ever go to a powwow; there are Native dancers who wear wolf and coyote hides as part of their regalia.

I didn't kill anything, for what it's worth. And I dare you to go to a Native powwow and tell the dancers wearing animal hides that they're "ridiculous". let me know how that goes.

Okay. It's pretty clear you're only here to tell me how incredibly wrong I am, for whatever modicum of smug self-satisfaction and superiority that gives you. Therefore I am ending this conversation so that neither of us wastes any more pixels on it. Good evening.

This is awesomely made! If you hadn't mentioned, I couldn't have known it was in such conditions. Great restoration work!

BTW can I, like, take this and adapt it as a design for my upcoming OC? I am researching for wolf costumes, and this is the best I can find to be their characteristic gear! (Almost perfect, actually, since I was thinking of using grey wolves as basis.) Just asking beforehand to avoid copyright problems.

Because it is illegal to sell wolf parts in CA (among many others) and since I can't guarantee that a buyer from there won't resell what I send them at some point, and I don't want to be implicated in an illegal activity across state lines, I (and most other sellers) choose not to send restricted parts there.

Ugh :( If only I didn't live in California I'd love to get this (...But because of laws and yadda yadda, that and I'd probably never wear it since it's like 80 degrees here daily on a cold day D:)

Still, this is beautiful! Do you happen to have a service charge for making a mask like this if a face is provided? (I might find a face or something nifty later on.)

I don't have one for the masks yet, though I should come up with one. It'd be less than the $75 for the full hide conversion.

Awesome :) Hopefully by then I'll have moved and have some real use for one of these~ (Since they strike me as being worn in colder weather with a parka when not at powwows/burning man events haha)
