"I bet you ain't never seen a donkey fly!" Not since Shrek, perhaps, but here's my newest pegasus--Jenny Coturnix, a winged donkey! I made her from the old Breyer donkey #81. I lifted her head and rotated her ears forward to give her a more curious expression, and I detached her tail from her hock and resculpted the end. She's got a little more of a mane, too, to go with it.
Her wings are from a domestic quail that was raised for food on a small family farm; the feathers are just a little worn because this bird got to have a real life in a yard. But they go with this little donkey's earthy paint job just fine! Please note the photos don't capture her coloration perfectly--she's so much better in person!
