Horned God Athame 1 by lupagreenwolf Horned God Athame 1 by lupagreenwolf
This is one of four pictures of this project.

aterials: Red deer bone, cow bone blade, deerskin, acrylic paint, red deer legskin, waxed linen cord, ceramic button

Knife length: 12 3/4\" (not including tassel on end)

Sheath length: 14\"

Description: I managed to get a hold of the leg bone and legskin of a red deer stag, which are exceptionally hard to source here in the U.S. The leg bone became the handle of a beautiful bone knife, painted in acrylics and decorated with chocolate brown deerskin and braided brown waxed linen cord. I painted the cow bone blade with a stag hoofprint and a line of dots up the center, just on one side.

The sheath is made of more deerskin, and the tanned red deer legskin, with the complete hoof. I added detailing and belt loops made of more braided cord, and completed the sheath with a gorgeous handmade ceramic stag button.

This is by far the most elaborate knife I\'ve done; it would be excellent for ritual work, shamanic and neopagan alike, as well as make a beautiful display on an altar or shrine. Invoke the Horned God, or call on the totemic Stag, this will be an excellent sacred knife for the working!

SOLD (but can make another)

Excellent work. If I had extra $ right now I'd love to commission a similar piece. I really like both the way it looks and the concept of how you used the materials.

I don't make them myself; I used to get them at a local shop til they closed (thankfully I stocked up some).

very well made! i wouldnt be surprised if you went back in time, learned from the 'masters' how to make such a blade, made one, and travelled back to the current time =D

Thank you :) I've been doing this sort of art for over a decade, and the knives for about four years.
