Brown antlered headdress by lupagreenwolf Brown antlered headdress by lupagreenwolf
Materials: Whitetail deer antlers, deerskin

Description: I attached these real 2 point x 2 point whitetail deer antlers (one with a tine broken partway off) to a deerskin-covered headband. They're lightweight and nicely balanced (as long as you're not headbanging!), and would be wonderful for Beltane and other pagan celebrations, as well as FaerieWorlds and other such costume-loving festivals!

Price: $40.00

Unfortunately no; US customs prohibits sending wildlife parts outside of the US.

Have you ever tried doing something like this with the antlers attached to the skull cap? I had that idea but can't seem to find one.. I'm not sure if that'd even work.

I tried way back when, but it's too heavy and unwieldy., and now I live in Oregon, where you aren't allowed to sell antlers still attached to an intact skullcap.

Did you try with small antlers? And oh really, interesting

The problem isn't so much the antlers as the skull pieces; they don't sit well on a human head and they usually require padding.

Ah, was just curious. I figured it wouldn't have the right shape or something, I don't really have any myself though.

I added your Etsy shop to my favorites. Do you think you'll ever have a headdress like this available again? I love it, and would love to wear it for ritual.

Sure, I'll have others. I'm out of town right now so I can't make it immediately, but would you like to put in a custom order?

I was just curious -- I wasn't going to make a custom order at this time, but very possibly in the future (probably August or September).

most welcome :D I love the idea of a tribal headdress like this.
how much would you charge for that? the antlers that I have are really no bigger then those you have pictured

Probably $20 for the work, which include making the headband. And then you'd be paying to ship the antlers to me, and having them shipped back. Are they still on the skull?

On the 18th I get paid and can get the money, I do want to commission you for a headdress :) one question though, there are a couple of holes right at the burr of both antlers, will that effect it any?

Great! Just keep me posted. And where are the holes exactly? The bottom, or the sides?

I figure it gives them a bit more character. I'm sure I'll have more "perfect" antler sets in the future.

They are very nice! I just think with 2 points that it's sad one of the antlers only has one...

Hmm. Can you give me more details of what you have in mind? I made an antlered coyote full hide headdress years ago, but that was one of my older works.

Well I have a case skinned red brush wolf pelt that I think would look beautiful with his head mounted and some small 2 or 3 point antlers added? Like a shaman style headdress?

Sure, I could do that! Here is my normal headdress workup: [link]

Adding the antlers wold cost extra, but could definitely be done.
