Materials: goat horn, leather, stone, wood and pottery beads, live Tillandsia air plant, braided cord
Pendant dimensions: 4" x 3" (not including beaded dangles)

Description: I love creative ways to display air plants; they're so easy to care for that almost anyone can enjoy their beauty! This beautiful Tillansdia fuschii v. gracilis is safely tucked into the open end of a real domestic goat horn; the curve of the horn is wrapped in real brown leather reclaimed from a vintage jacket, and adorned with a jade ram bead from another crafter's destash. At the end of the horn, waxed linen cord with stone, pottery and wood beads sway as a counterweight, and I braided more of this cord to complete the necklace. It's a beautiful piece for wearing, though it would also make for quite striking wall decor.
This little terrarium is incredibly easy to care for. No daily misting, as this could potentially cause mold to grow on the horn and leather. Instead, all you have to do is soak the Tillandsia in water for 2-3 hours every two weeks, and add a bit of organic plant fertilizer to the water during spring and fall. Let the plant air-dry on a towel, and then place it back in its nest, deep enough that it will stay put but not so deep that it can't get sun.
